Building work on the Watermark, the new Ivybridge Library and Community Resource Centre, started on Monday 23rd April 2007 on the Erme Court, Leonards Road site and was officially opened by Gary Streeter MP on Monday 14th April 2008.
The multi-function building has its own web site at www.ivybridgewatermark.co.uk. The building houses Ivybridge Tourist Information Centre, Ivybridge Library, a café, cinema/theatre space, conference facilities and a number of small business starter units.
Stride Treglown, the architects of the new building, recorded a sequence of images from a web cam sited on the Back Centre, opposite the building. Stride Treglown's web developer, Simon Kelland, has compiled a time lapse video of the build, which can be found at on Stride Treglown's web site.
Martin Coard, of the Back Centre, also took a series of panoramas, shown below, during the construction process.
