Harford Bunkhouse offers comfortable, budget accommodation. The bunkhouse itself offers dormitory style bunk beds in each of the rooms. The bunkhouse also includes a kitchen, a large seating area as well as toilets and showers. We have a washing up area, drying room, laundry facilities, disabled accommodation and we're open all year round. Cooked meals are also available if required.
The campsite is divided between two of our meadows at West Combeshead Farm. Like many farmers these days we have diversified and operate the addommodation alongside our traditional farming. Campers can use the toilets and showers located within the camping barns buildings and small campfires and barbecues are allowed at our descretion.
The 5 Norwegian camping pods were installed in 2014. For those who haven't yet encountered camping pods, they are essentially wooden tents. The pods are waterproof, cosy, can sleep up to six people and have the advantage of making 'camping' a year round experience. The pods are more private than the bunkhouse accommodation and include basic sleeping platforms. They provide walkers with dry and spacious accommodation, whatever the weather.
Harford Bunkhouse is ideally situated to provide accommodation for the Two Moors Way. This is a long-distance walking route between Ivybridge on the southern edge of Dartmoor and Lynmouth on the North Coast of Exmoor. It has a total length of 102 miles (163 km), making it an ideal week’s walk. Harford Bunkhouse is a perfect place to start or finish the route.
